StateTally exists because the rules that matter most to people — how much alimony a court can order, what an unemployment check will be — change completely at the state line, and the official sources are scattered across fifty statutes and agency sites.

How pages are built. Each calculator encodes the formula from the state statute or agency schedule it cites. Pages show the date they were last reviewed, and figures that adjust annually (benefit minimums and maximums, income caps) are re-checked against official sources on a recurring schedule. Explanatory text is drafted with the assistance of AI language models and reviewed for accuracy against the cited statute before publication.

What this site is not. Nothing here is legal, tax, or financial advice, and no calculator can capture judicial discretion or the facts of your case. Use the estimates to prepare for a conversation with a licensed professional or the relevant state agency — not to replace one.
