Does Morgantown have its own rule?
No. W. Va. Code § 21A-6-10 (as amended by SB 841, 2024); WorkForce WV benefit rate table WVUC-B-59 applies across West Virginia, so a claim from Morgantown is decided by the same numbers as one filed anywhere else in the state. What changes locally is which workforce office you deal with in person and how busy it is — not the weekly amount or the number of weeks.
What the statute says
W. Va. Code § 21A-6-10 (as amended by SB 841, 2024); WorkForce WV benefit rate table WVUC-B-59 — WorkForce West Virginia — unemployment compensation benefit rate table (effective July 1, 2025). West Virginia reads your weekly rate from a 404-class benefit table that works out to about 55% of your average weekly wage (total base-period wages ÷ 52): $24 for base-period wages of $2,200 and $662 for $62,650 or more. The $662 cap has been frozen by the 2024 law (SB 841) instead of tracking the state average wage, and the table effective July 1, 2025 still shows it. Every wage class pays a uniform 26 weeks (maximum benefit = 26 × weekly rate); bills to shorten or taper benefits have not passed. No dependents' allowance.
