Child support in Passaic: how it is calculated
Child support in Passaic is set by New Jersey's statewide guidelines — Passaic County courts apply the same table as every other county. Here is the calculation, with the statute it comes from.
Where a Passaic case goes
A Passaic case is filed in the New Jersey court for Passaic County, which applies the state guideline below. Local practice affects timing and paperwork, not the guideline amount. Passaic has about 70,722 residents (Census Bureau, 2024 estimate).

Does Passaic have its own rule?
No. N.J. Court Rules, R. 5:6A and Appendix IX-F, Schedule of Child Support Awards (revised effective Sept. 1, 2025) applies across New Jersey, so a case from Passaic is decided by the same numbers as one filed anywhere else in the state. What changes locally is the courthouse, the clerk's procedure and how long the docket takes — not the amount.
What the statute says
N.J. Court Rules, R. 5:6A and Appendix IX-F, Schedule of Child Support Awards (revised effective Sept. 1, 2025) — New Jersey Appendix IX-F schedule of child support awards (income shares, combined weekly net income converted to monthly). New Jersey's Appendix IX-F Schedule of Child Support Awards (Rule 5:6A, revised to be effective September 1, 2025) is built on the parents' combined WEEKLY NET income (gross income less taxes, mandatory retirement and union dues and prior support orders) in $10 steps from $180 to $3,600 a week; Appendix IX-B says to use the next higher row when the income is $5 or more past a row, which is the nearest row. Every income and award here was converted to a monthly figure (weekly × 52 ÷ 12, rounded), so the rows run from $780 to $15,600 a month. Below $180 a week the court sets an award between $5 a week and the $180-row amount; above $3,600 a week the schedule must not be extrapolated and the top-row award is a minimum to which the court adds a discretionary amount under N.J.S.A. 2A:34-23, so no percentage is added here. Work-related child care, the children's share of health insurance premiums and predictable unreimbursed health-care costs over $250 per child per year are added and split by income share, and the shared-parenting worksheet applies once the paying parent has the children two or more overnights a week.
